So Rihanna is on the cover of July’s Esquire UK and the interviewer asked her about why she decided to collaborate with Brown after he literally beat her to a pulp. Considering she is in the public eye, agreed to the interview and has spoken about this before I don’t see how this is an out of line question. Ri Ri however got very pissed off.
“Some people felt it sent the wrong message … You’d gone back to someone who put you in the hospital,” the interviewer said.
“Oh really? Did I?” Rihanna shot back. “Did I? Did I? Did I? … Okay. In a completely professional environment. And on a complete professional note. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that’s a whole different discussion … I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid.”
But when the Esquire writer continued to press the singer about how it is difficult for the public to separate her professional decisions and musical output from her personal life, Rihanna went into fight mode.
“This is turning into a tacky interview,” Rihanna said. “What do you really want to talk about? I’m not here to [talk] about messy s**t … It upsets me that you keep asking the same kind of questions about stuff that’s trivial. What’s there to talk about? Are all your questions like that?” Source
I am not going to come out an say Rihanna is an idiot (she kind of is) but c’mon Ri Ri. You have GOT to be smarter than this. Now, just because she is famous and got beaten up by her boyfriend doesn’t mean she should have to be the ultimate role model for people being abused in domestic violence situations. Of course not, you can’t force that on to someone. But for her to repeatedly work with him, and almost be apologetic to his behavior is incomprehensible. I just don’t understand.
But these photos are beautiful. I hope someday she realizes she is beautiful and definitely doesn’t need someone like C.B. in her life anywhere ever again.
