So you probably weren’t watching since they crappy ratings but on the Today show this morning Ann Curry said goodbye after 1 year as co-host and almost 20 years as a member of the cast. It was pathetic. They gave her about 5 minutes on the couch at the end of the 2nd hour and that was it. Meredith Viera got a 2 hour freaking special and Journey. Does anyone else see a problem here? I sure do.
Ann Curry will no longer co-host the Today show – effective immediately.
“This is not easy to say,” a choked-up Curry, 55, announced on Thursday’s show, as her costars sat on the sofa next to her. She said Thursday would be her last day as a regular on the show, but “I will still be part of the Today show family, in a different role.”
She said she has been “given a fancy new title” and will roam the globe for NBC, reporting the news.
With tears in her eyes, she expressed her gratitude and love for the viewers and the behind-the-scenes staff, and said, “To those of you who saw me as a groundbreaker, I am sorry that could not carry the ball across the finish line – but, man, did I try.” People
Do you notice that terrible Matt Lauer is sitting there with a smuggish look on his face and basically like ‘ooh well…see ya lates toots’. Where as Al Roker and Natalie Morales seem genuinely sad about this turn of events. And Ann doesn’t seem to happy with Lauer either. Just what a MESS NBC has made out of all of this.
And supposedly she’s making 10$ million a year…a number she denies. So who knows what she is making and it’s really none of our business. All I know is this is some shady dealings and crappy treatment of an employee who’s been there for 20 years.
