I think anyone who watched this mess knew it was going to happen as soon as the cameras stopped rolling. It was pretty evident at the reunion special too. But, now it’s officially official officially. Because Emily is on the cover of People magazine (slow news week?).
I mean, look! Even George Clooney was pushed to the corner! What the heck?! How is the Bachelor bigger news than Clooney?? What is this world we are living in?! But, I digress…Here’s the excerpt from People:
“We’re no longer engaged,” a teary-eyed Maynard told PEOPLE minutes after taping an intimate interview with Bachelor host Chris Harrison, for a segment scheduled to air during the July 11 episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette.
Womack, 38, declined to participate in the on-camera interview with Maynard. He tells PEOPLE in an exclusive statement that “the demise of our relationship was completely my fault.”
But Maynard disagrees, saying that while there’s still an immense amount of love between the pair, “just because we love each other doesn’t mean we’re right for each other.”
Basically, what we all should learn from this, is that it is near impossible to have a ‘true’ relationship with someone while being followed by television cameras 24 hours a day, while also competing with 20 some other people for the same person. Because when the cameras go away, and you’re not being sent around on challenges and fancy crazy dates, shit gets REAL. Suddenly, this person isn’t so glossy anymore. They’re a regular person. Just like you. I would think most would find that hard to adjust too. Also… I told ya so.
