Tonight is the night! The new season of Duck Dynasty premieres tonight at 10 pm on A&E and my whole family is psyched. Especially my Dad. My dad is pretty cool, though, so you know. Anyways, The Duck guys have been doing some promo for the upcoming season, and Willie has been asked about the possibility of him running for Congress.
“Yeah, I mean, I’d consider everything,” he said of reports that he’s been itching to get into the politics game. “But you know, at this point in my life, I’m really busy. Maybe we can help the country in some way, get these guys to be more efficient and all that. I don’t know. I don’t think now is the right time but who knows about one day?”
“I came to New York and had gotten an email about it, and then within a day or so, it was everywhere,” he says. “Every show I’ve been on, I’ve been asked about it. Must be the bandana with the American flag. … I don’t see a lot of guys wearing bandanas on the floor of the house.”
Also, after quite a lot of salary disputes, it’s been resolved finally and everyone is going to continue with the show!
The new contract will bring the family more than $200,000 an episode, to be split among the 20 cast members (9 adults and 11 children), which is four times as much as they were earning during the first three seasons.
I can’t believe that A&E was giving them a hard time about asking for more money. That’s a more than fair amount, especially since it’s split between every person on the show and that’s a total of 20 people. And it’s a great show.
