That was an odd show. We sat through the whole 3 plus hour debacle and there were highs and lows. The highs for me were Tony Hale and Julia Louis Dreyfuss BOTH winning and then playing their characters while JLD accepted her award. It was adorable, with Tony standing behind her holding her purse and whispering lines. Loved it. Another high was Edie Falco’s touching tribute to James Gandolfini. Also- Nathan Fillion in a singing and dancing number and Will Ferrel’s children helping him present the final awards. Other than these things though… the show felt a little flat.
I think it’s time for Modern Family to not win Best Comedy.
This may not be a popular opinion, but there is SO MUCH TV right now. It’s first season was fantastic. Now it’s bordering on formulaic (maybe it’s already crossed the border, I’ve stopped watching). For JLD and Tony to get awards and then Veep wasn’t the Best Comedy makes no sense to me.
Also- why in the fresh hell did Game of Thrones not win any major awards?!
You can see the entire list of winners HERE.
Also- I think it’s time to give Neil Patrick Harris a break from hosting. Sorry, I’m not sorry.
