Jenna was Ellen promoting her new show on Lifetime ‘The Witches of East End’ (which I am totally going to watch. Sorry I’m not sorry) and of course Ellen asked how things were going with their new baby and how Channing was adjusting to fatherhood.
“The baby is crying and you’re like, ‘What do I do to make her stop crying?’ and all of a sudden he [Tatum] starts beatboxing and she starts cooing,” “I’m like, ‘What?’ I have been rocking her. I have been swaying her. I’ve been doing squats and he gets here and he’s like … I’m not going to do a really bad beatboxing but…”
“It’s like the one thing he knows he can do,” Dewan-Tatum said. “He’s like, ‘Let me get in there. Let me change those diapers.'”
“He’s amazing. It’s funny he’s so sensitive,” she added. “He’s like this really strong big guy in life but you give him this little baby and he’s like, ‘Oh my god…Is she going to drop? Am I doing everything okay?'”
In June, Tatum admitted to Chelsea Handler that he was so worked up over Everly’s birth that he broke down in tears at the hospital.
“I probably went to the bathroom four times and had a crying fit,” he said at the time. “Like, I’m just like, ‘I don’t know what to do!'”
So sweet. Despite Channing being in ‘Magic Mike’ they seem to be really cool people. I hope they don’t succumb to the Hollywood juggarnaut and end up broken like most people do.
