Madonna shared a picture of her son, Rocco, on her Instagram and provided the following caption:
“No one messes with Dirty Soap!” “Mama said knock you out! #disn—a”
Lovely. It was quickly erased following some backlash and replaced with:
“Ok let me start this again. #get off my d-ck haters!”
So nice. So, the backlash continued on the interwebz as backlash does and now she has been forced to make an apology for being an awful person:
“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram,” the pop star said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.
“It was not meant as a racial slur … I am not a racist. There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention.”
“It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white,” Madonna continues. “I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.”
Whatever, I’m glad she apologized, but why the hell would you use that word? There are so many other terms to choose from, and it’s not like she’s new on Earth. Ugh.
