I had to do that, you know I did.
Anyway, last night was the terribly boring Billboard Music Awards. I live for Award shows and I could not make it through this one. It was painful. You know when a show is opened by Pitbull, things are only going to get worse. And they did! Robin Thicke sang a song to his estranged wife, Paula Patton, called ‘Get Her Back’. I don’t know… maybe don’t screw around on your wife? That probably would have worked.
“All right, you got to help me try to get her back now,” he said just before launching into the song, which seemed like an apology set to music.
“I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small,” he sang. “I should have kissed you longer, I should have held you stronger. I’ll wait for forever for you to love me again.”
Although he never mentioned Patton by name during the performance, he very pointedly thanked “my wife” earlier in the show while picking up an award for Top R&B song for his smash hit “Blurred Lines.”
“Most importantly, I’d like to thank my wife for her love and support and for putting up with me all these years,” he said during his brief speech.
Was she even there? Ah well, it seems like a classic case of too little too late.
