FASSBENDER. So, I will be seeing this. Anyway, you may have read a little about this flick when all the Sony hacks were leaked (wasn’t that fun?) well, now it’s official.
The tech innovator, who died in 2011 at the age of 56, was originally going to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio in an iteration first helmed by director David Fincher, and then taken over by Danny Boyle. DiCaprio soon backed out, leaving the spot open for Christian Bale.
Fassbender will be joined in the Steve Jobs movie by Seth Rogen, who will play Apple revolutionary Steve Wozniak. The cast will also include Jeff Daniels, Kate Winslet, Katherine Waterston, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mackenzie Moss, Perla Haney-Jardine, Sarah Snook, Ripley Sobo, and Adam Shapiro.
The movie, which is an adaptation of Walter Isaacson‘s Jobs biography, has had an infamously hard time getting to production. In addition to the director and lead actor swap, the project was originally in development from Sony and moved over to Universal just as details about the complicated process began to leak in the widespread hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Welp, we already know this is going to be better than the Ashton Kutcher Jobs movie from 2 years ago. That flopped stupendously.
